Ashton & Bailynn’s New Orleans Orpheum Theater Wedding

A New Orleans Orpheum Theater wedding already brings its own sense of drama, but Ashton and Bailynn made the day feel completely their own. From quiet getting-ready moments at The Roosevelt Hotel and Double Dealer to a ceremony on the Orpheum stage and a reception that never slowed down, their September wedding was full of personality, energy, and the kind of joy that photographs itself.

Getting Ready at The Roosevelt Hotel and Double Dealer

Bailynn started the day in a bright suite at The Roosevelt Hotel in downtown New Orleans, surrounded by her closest people. The room had that perfect mix of calm and excitement. Her dress, florals, and the warm tones in her bridesmaids’ looks came together beautifully without ever feeling too coordinated or overly styled.

Ashton and the guys got ready at Double Dealer, which gave us a completely different atmosphere. Deep red curtains, patterned carpet, dramatic shadows, and a little old-school New Orleans character made the space feel made for portraits. It was moody, playful, and a great match for Ashton’s personality.

New Orleans Wedding Portraits at The Roosevelt

Before heading to the Orpheum, we made time for portraits with Ashton and Bailynn around The Roosevelt. The rooftop views and surrounding downtown architecture gave us a clean, timeless New Orleans backdrop, but what made the photographs work was how comfortable they were together. Nothing felt stiff or overly posed. They laughed, moved, and settled into each other naturally—the balance I am always looking for in New Orleans wedding photography.

A New Orleans Wedding Ceremony at the Orpheum Theater

The Orpheum Theater is one of the most cinematic New Orleans wedding venues. Ashton and Bailynn exchanged vows onstage, surrounded by candlelight, colorful florals, and the theater’s rich architectural details. The setting felt grand without taking away from the emotion of the ceremony.

That balance is what makes an Orpheum Theater wedding so special. The room gives every moment a sense of scale, while the stage keeps the focus exactly where it belongs—on the couple and the people standing beside them.

A New Orleans Wedding Reception Full of Life

Once the ceremony ended, the celebration never really let up. Ashton and Bailynn shared their first dance beneath the stage lights, cut their cake, and then joined a dance floor that stayed packed for the rest of the night.

These two were fully present for every part of it. There were people in the air, chairs above the crowd, big reactions, and the kind of wonderfully chaotic dance-floor moments that you cannot plan. Every time I turned around, something worth photographing was happening.

The final elevator portraits were the perfect ending: playful, stylish, and unmistakably them.

Planning a New Orleans Orpheum Theater Wedding?

If you are planning a New Orleans Orpheum Theater wedding, the venue gives you room to create something elegant without sacrificing personality. Pairing it with The Roosevelt Hotel and Double Dealer also gives the full gallery a beautiful range—from bright and timeless to dark, editorial, and energetic.

Ashton and Bailynn’s wedding was a reminder that the best photographs come from a day that looks incredible but still feels real. If you are looking for a New Orleans wedding photographer to document your day with a mix of candid storytelling and refined portraits, I would love to hear what you are planning.
