Austin & Haley’s New Orleans Pharmacy Museum Elopement
Austin and Haley traveled from Dallas to New Orleans for an intimate elopement in the courtyard of the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum. The plan was simple: gather their closest people, exchange vows in the French Quarter, and let the city give the day its character. It stormed for most of the afternoon, but just before it was time for them to get married, the sky cleared.
A Rainy French Quarter Wedding Day
The weather became part of the story rather than something to work around. Haley arrived under a clear umbrella, and the wet streets and softened light gave the beginning of the gallery a distinctly New Orleans feel. Inside, the museum’s historic rooms offered a quiet place for a few final moments before the ceremony.
The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum sits in the heart of the French Quarter on Chartres Street. Its 19th-century courtyard is lush, intimate, and full of texture—an especially beautiful setting for couples planning a small New Orleans wedding or elopement.
An Intimate Ceremony at the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum
Budsies Flower Farm brought color into the courtyard with arrangements in pink, coral, peach, and deep red. Against the greenery and old brick, the florals felt vibrant without overpowering the space.
Ranna Zahra of Let’s Elope New Orleans officiated the ceremony. Austin and Haley exchanged rings beneath the floral arch, surrounded by their families and friends. The rain stayed away, the courtyard glowed, and the timing felt like one of those small pieces of New Orleans magic.
New Orleans Elopement Portraits
After the ceremony, we stayed around the Pharmacy Museum for portraits. Austin’s light green suit and Haley’s lace dress worked beautifully against the warm courtyard and bold flowers. I kept the direction simple so their photographs could feel polished while still looking like the two of them.
We also made time for a full group portrait, a few quiet frames together, and—very appropriately—a celebratory round of tiny Fireball bottles. It was relaxed, personal, and exactly the kind of day an elopement can be.
Planning a New Orleans Pharmacy Museum Elopement?
For couples coming from out of town, the Pharmacy Museum offers something rare: a ceremony space that feels unmistakably New Orleans without requiring a large guest list or an elaborate production. The French Quarter is just outside the doors, while the courtyard gives the ceremony privacy and atmosphere.
Austin and Haley’s wedding was a reminder that intimacy does not mean sacrificing beauty or meaning. If you are planning a New Orleans elopement or an intimate French Quarter wedding and are looking for a New Orleans photographer who blends candid storytelling with refined portraits, I would love to hear what you are planning.
